Dear All. Good luck with your campaign. A new pressure group has just been formed in Speyside and surrounding area. Two new windfarms are being proposed, next door to each other, on Brown Muir hill. 25 turbines in total with battery storage. A windfarm was rejected by Scottish Ministers in this location in 2016 but the hawks are back again thanks to NPF4. Together with the windfarms and battery storage Speyside is being bombarded with other developments such as a hydrogen plant, a methane/biodigester, a maltings, commercial forestry and whisky warehousing. All this industrialisation of our country side and loss of agricultural land also brings an enormous increase in the numbers of HGV’s on our roads. SOS Speyside is holding a public meeting on Friday 23 August at 7pm at Inchberry Hall (on the B9015). Guest speakers include Graham Leadbitter MP, Tim Eagle MSP and Spey Fisheries Board. You are very welcome to attend. There is strength in numbers.
having looked at the Energy Consents Unit website, Public Representations I note that many of the Representations Supporting the planned windfarm are of the same paper-based tick box questionnaire type.
(1) Most appear to have been collected / submitted after the stated deadline.
(2) Who has funded/purchased this exercise?
