I’m sure the windfarm operators have some great excuses for this one! and that they can provide suitably contrived and obtuse “Cost Benefit Analyses” or “Carbon Balance” arguments to justify their actions, BUT … Really? If these things are connected to the grid; which presumably they are, how difficult can it be for them to take electricity back from the grid to keep themselves warm?

Scottish Power admitted 71 of its windmills were hooked up to the fossil fuel supply after a fault developed with their power supply.
The Scot Power extract you quote implies this is temporary solution because of some sort of supply problem. Is that right or are the diesel generators permanent ?
