This article in the Daily Mail criticises the continued ban on onshore wind farms in England. But the government stands firm and continues to back offshore wind.

The article argues that, “it [the policy] will continue to drive up energy bills”.

What a fallacious argument? The direct corollary is that building onshore wind farms will drive down energy bills; and we all know that that is not the case.

All onshore wind farms do is devalue the environment, drive away tourists, and make profits for developers and landowners who sell the electricity at a market price which is completely independent of the cost of production.

When will the Scottish government see sense and follow suit?
