If there’s one simple way to explain why windfarms should be placed offshore it is this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look at the wind strength map!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a great example of what happens every day with wind across the UK. The wind strength is shown  in speed ranging from low as blue and green and rising to yellow and red as the speed increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is always windier offshore. Wind slows down across land due to friction and accelerates when it is on the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wind across land is also more turbulent due to undulating terrain and therefore less useful and less powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
