But the government stands firm and continues to back offshore wind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article argues that, <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">&#8220;it [the policy] will continue to drive up energy bills&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What a fallacious argument?  The direct corollary is that building onshore wind farms will drive down energy bills; and we all know that that is not the case.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All onshore wind farms do is devalue the environment, drive away tourists, and make profits for developers and landowners who sell the electricity at a market price which is completely independent of the cost of production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When will the Scottish government see sense and follow suit?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This article in the Daily Mail criticises the continued ban on onshore wind farms in England.
